How does the credit system work?

Credits are used for AI-powered features like cover letter generation (1 credit) and job matching (2 credits). Each plan includes monthly credits plus 5 daily credits that reset every 24 hours. Unused monthly credits roll over at the end of each billing cycle. Your current credit balance and usage history are visible in your Subscriptions tab in your account's Billing section, so you can track consumption and plan accordingly.

What happens if I run out of credits?

Once you've used your daily credits, you'll need to wait until they reset the next day, or use your monthly credit allowance. If you exhaust both, you can upgrade your plan or wait for your next billing cycle.

Can I buy additional credits without upgrading?

Currently, credits are tied to your subscription plan. To get more credits, you'll need to upgrade to a higher tier. We recommend choosing a plan that fits your expected monthly usage.

What's the difference between monthly and yearly pricing?

When you choose yearly billing, you save significantly on both plans. Pro users save $23.98 per year (20% off), while Premium users save $119.98 per year (20% off). Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period unless you cancel.

Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan at any time?

Yes, you can change your plan anytime from the Subscriptions tab in your account’s Billing section." When upgrading mid-cycle, you'll be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of your billing period. When downgrading, the change takes effect at your next billing cycle, and you'll retain your current plan's features until then.

What happens if I hit my monthly credit limits on Pro?

If you hit your credit limits on Pro, you can either wait until your next billing cycle when limits reset, or upgrade to Premium. We'll notify you when you're approaching your limits.

Is there a free trial for paid plans?

Yes, we offer a comprehensive Starter plan that's free forever, which includes 1 AI-powered profile, unlimited resume downloads, daily credits for personalised job matches, cover letters, etc. This allows you to experience HelloCV's core features before deciding to upgrade.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit cards like Visa, Mastercard, American Express and UnionPay. We also support Cash App Pay and Bank Transfer. All payments are processed securely through our encrypted payment system.

Can I cancel my subscription anytime?

Yes, you can change your plan anytime from the Subscriptions tab in your account’s Billing section. Your access to premium features will continue until the end of your current billing period. After cancellation, you'll automatically be reverted to the free Starter plan.

What happens to my data if I downgrade to Starter?

Your profile data remains safe when downgrading. However, you'll lose access to any premium features you had access to. Any specialized profiles beyond the first one will be preserved but not accessible until you upgrade again.

Can I pause my subscription instead of canceling?

Currently, we don't offer subscription pausing. However, you can cancel anytime and resubscribe later.

Are there any setup fees or hidden costs?

No, there are no setup fees, activation costs, or hidden charges. The prices shown are exactly what you'll pay.
